Return to Me

At last, the tide has receeded,
the pebbles are visible at my  toes
I pick one up and hold it tenderly,
the polished stone glistening in the sunlight
I caress it
revel in its smoothness...so soothing
its luxurious caramel colour
I wonder at the intricate spider web of lineage that covers it

The fog has cleared
my breathing is deep, steady and even
I smile deeply,
from the heart,
it reaches my eyes
and the telltale lines that crease at their sides

Spontaneous laughter has returned to my world
bubbling forth,
giggling, piercing the silence
warmth surrounds me once again
my world has opened up and widened,
i no longer need to shelter or hide
l embrace looking into the eyes of others,
the contract so natural and easy
no longer needing to seek out hairlines or over shoulders
as l hid my own eyes, trying to hide the window into the depths of my being
my once fragile soul restored to its former glory

I breathe, deep, steady and even
Enjoying the moment,
every moment
all the moments
embracing the here and now

Three times i have felt most alive

Three times you've felt most alive

A nudist beach in Spain. With boyfriend, now husband. Crystal clear water. Blue cloudless sky. Sunshine. Swimming naked. Totally liberating😊⭐️❤️

Backpacking/living in Australia for a yearπŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•
Arriving into Sydney after overnight bus journey, crossing over the harbour bridge, looking across at bay and opera house. Amazing mix of emotions, absolutely proud of myself, excited, buzzingπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Christmas morning, taking photos of Husband watching kids as they open their presents. The sheer joy in their faces. Knowing we made this happen on every level. My family❤️❤️❤️❤️

A New Year stretches out ahead

A New Year stretches out ahead,
full of hopes and dreams
full of birthdays and anniversaries
full of adventures to be had,
laughter to be heard
tears to be shed
unseen speedbumps
unexpected joy
lessons to be learned
songs to be sung
books to be read
hands to be held
love to be made
secrets to be shared
memories to be stored
the unwalked path to be explored

another New Year...

Here we are again,
January.
How the years roll by.
How it seems to accelerate as you get older.
When l was younger l hated the winter, the cold, the dark evenings and mornings.
Now l like the comfort of my home, l hibernate all year through,
Happy, safe and comfortable in my lovely lair,
so now the winter doesnt bother me as much, and as result the time from October to January seems to fly by
